ADMISSION & RETENTION POLICIES
Objectives:
1. To promote quality education; and produce competitive educators.
2. To improve the quality and increase relevance of education and training to community needs.
3. To prepare the youth with adequate knowledge, technological skills, Filipino values and rational attitudes for his total development in the various disciplines contributory to a responsible productive life in society.
Students Officially enroled in the College of Education are subject to the rules on discipline and are bound to follow the rules and regulations published in Student Handbook and those that are to be promulgated by the Commission on Higher Education.

Enrollment Procedure:
1. Entrance exam at the Admission Testing center of SIT
2. if passed, go to the Registrar's Office for submission and verification of requirements and for Preliminary registratio from and selection of subjects to be enrolled
3. For old students, go to the registrar's office for evaluation and verification of subjects, a clearance must be submitted first.
Class Attendance:
* Students who have officially enrolled but have not entered their class without justifiaable reason shall be marked ABSENT from the start of regular classes or from the day the student has officially enrolled in case
Examinations:
* There are four (4) examinations during the semester, namely: Preliminary, Mid-term, Pre-final, and Final examination.
* A atudent who fails to take any scheduled periodical examination due to justifiable cause or illness will be given a special examination upon presentation of a special examination permit per subject within two weeks after the scheduled examination.
* student taking the examination must have a valid examination Permit issued by the Cashier's Office. An examination permit which is tampered or with erasure is not valid. A student using an examination permit not belonging to him / her may be suspended for this violation.
* Students must use the official examination booklet of the school in all regular and special examination.
Retention Policies:
The Institution has an open admission-selective retention policy in recognition of the basic right of students to education. Each college has specific retention policies.
1. New student applicants take the Student AptitudeTest (SAT) after evaluation by the CSC (Central Student Council) and the Committee on Academic Affairs of their entrance credentials that include the following:
a. photocopies of the high school card (Form 138),
b. birth certificate,
c. and character reference from the high school principal,
d. three copies of 2" x 2"
e. I. D. photos, one long brown envelope
f. and testing fee receipt.
2. Once the student is approved for enrolment, he/she shall present:
a. the original of Form 138,
b. photocopy of the birth certificate,
c. original copy of the character reference,
d. and the SAT result to the Registrar Officer.
3. the student must pass the interview of the admission committee;
4. the student shall submit the required academic credentials;
5. the student must pass the Annual Retention Examination to proceed to the next level, and
6. the student must have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 if they reached 3rd year If they will pass they can go on to the last level which is 4th Yr.; If they have Enhancement Programs they must also qualify or else they will retake the subject and will only be given twice of a chance for this exam.
7. Incase of appeals refer to the Committee on Academic Affairs and after further Panel, Dicussion & Investigation of a Student's
a. Cognitive abilities and performances
b. Social & Mental Preparedness to pursue the program
c. Personal & Professional Awareness level
d. Good Behaviour / Good standing
e. Recommendation of the Department Head
are the ways on how to measure retention of a student incase there will be discrepancies along the way to help the Board decide on the matter. Knowledge, awareness and / or permission will be given to person responsible for the student. ( refer to SPF )

PREAMBLE
Code of Ethics of Professional Teachers
Resolution No. 435, Series of 1997
Teachers are duly licensed professional who possess dignity with high moral values as well as technical and professional competence. In the practice of their noble profession, they strictly adhere to observe and practice this set of ethical and moral principles, standard of values.
It is therefore mandated by this Institution through the College of Education, the following Admission Polices, for compliance:

Display Premium respect and self-discipline as the principle of personal behavior in all relationships with others, and in all situations.

Has dignified personality which emulation by learners, peers and others.

Recognizes the Almighty God as his guide of as his own destiny.

Before a student get enrolled one should be required to take an aptitude test. Passing grade is 80%.

Every student is required to take a qualifying test every year before the next enrolment. Otherwise the succeeding paragraphs will concur.
RETENTION POLICIES
For students who are failing in subjects or in individual lessons because of deficiencies, such as incomplete grades, habitual absences, indifferences, drop-outs because of truancy are retained.
For him to be re-admitted he must undergo the following:
√ Make-up class / Remedial Lessons
√ Tutorial class
√ Confrontation of parents or guardian to discuss
√ Submit himself for guidance and counseling
√ Shift to a non-board course as the last option
EXPULSION POLICIES
√ Immorality and / or actions resulting to the public scandal especially outside the school, examples are prostitution, adultery, concubine, or the likes or be involved in any moral turpitude.
√ physically assault a teacher, personnel or student within the campus
√ Utter slanderous / defamatory words to a teacher, personnel or student thereby causing injuries to one’s person and honor
√ In case of pregnancy while being a student, refer to the latest jurisprudence and / or board decisions.
